2026 年 FIFA 世界盃 將會由 48 支國家隊 角逐冠軍，賽事共分為 12 組分組，每組 4 隊。每組排名前兩位的隊伍 可晉級 淘汰賽階段，展開 16 強至決賽的淘汰賽程。

歷史對戰方面，墨西哥與南非曾於 2010 年世界盃 對決，最終以 1:1 平局收場，雙方仍無勝場差距。
另外，足球常見規則包含越位、VAR、黃牌與紅牌制度，仍是球迷觀賽時的重要基礎知識，球迷對規則判定仍十分關心。
